Scott Green Excavating, Inc. was founded in 1995 and has been serving the Vail Valley ever since. We specialize in providing top-tier excavating services for all types of land development projects including commercial roadways and utilities, residential, private property projects and more. With a focus on precision and quality using GPS Machine Control, we ensure each project is completed to perfection. We are a leader in new roads and infrastructure and are proud to serve our home community.
Meet Our Owners
Owner and Founder: Scott Green

Scott, an Eagle County native, founded Scott Green Excavating in 1995. He has been a leader in the excavating and construction industries in the Vail Valley for over 40 years. Scott serves on the Gypsum Town Council and previously was the President of Eagle County School District. Scott takes great pride in his community and has been instrumental in the development of Eagle County. He enjoys spending his time with his beautiful wife Cappie, their five children, five grandchildren, and three fur babies.
Co-owner: Ryley Murphy

Ryley, an Eagle County native, joined Scott Green Excavating in 2017 and has been a crucial leader since he joined. He has helped increase the company size and capabilities tremendously. He was named a co-owner in 2023. Ryley enjoys riding dirt bikes, boating, and raising his two children with his incredible partner Katie.

Excavation
Whatever the earthwork project, we have the equipment and crew to efficiently complete your project. Our expertise allows us to complete any type of project from large commercial developments, roadways and utilities, residential neighborhoods, wastewater and water treatment plants, and much more.
Utilities
Utilizing our GPS for Machine Control, we are capable of installing any wet or dry utility faster than you've ever seen it. Our crews are experienced with major utility projects and can efficiently install new utilities, tie-in to existing, and avoid issues with existing conflicting utilities. From years of experience, we can help guide designs to route in the most efficient way to complete projects quicker and save customers money.
GPS Machine Control
We utilize GPS in order to increase productivity and accuracy for all elements of construction. Our GPS capabilities allow for grading and utility install to increase efficiency by over 40% which in turn reduces construction costs to customers. We also design GPS Machine Control files in-house and offer these services to outside contractors as well.
